It had to come: a performance about the deer that started it all. The most famous children's film of all time sketches an idyllic forest full of talking animals, friendship and romance. But beneath that lovely surface lies another story.
In the original 1923 book, nature is cruel and uncaring. Survival means learning to trust yourself. Bambie plays Bambi juxtaposes these two worlds and explores what remains when romance disappears.
Iconic scenes are given a new, physical translation: the birth, the slipping on the ice, the death of the mother, the hormonal discovery of love. The forest becomes a dwelling where natural elements intrude and human figures display animalistic urges.Three individuals seek in Bambie plays Bambi a personal answer to the question of what our "natural" destiny is. And what life lessons are needed to mature in this time.
Excluding consumption.
