United Cowboys introduces a bold new format at Natlab: a dynamic mini-festival featuring three evenings of live art, combining new work with returning program elements.


For three evenings each edition, United Cowboys will conquer the space in and around the Main Stage of Natlab with full-length programs showcasing new live artwork, from regional up to international. The audience is invited to experience these diverse works from different angles, to get up close, even. Dance, music, performance, video, and visual art will be presented in a continuous flow, both inviting and challenging. 


The curated live-art nights will highlight a new generation of creators, including winners of the BNG Prize, the Jacques de Leeuw Prize, or winners of international film festivals.

WHAT U.C. IS WHAT YOU GET STIMULATES ALL THE SENSES
united cowboys “occupies” the space in and around the Main Stage of Natlab for three evenings per edition, presenting full evening programmes in which new regional work is shown alongside international work. The audience is invited to view these works from multiple perspectives and to get close to them. Programmes consist of dance, music, performance, video and visual art, presented in one continuous flow. A succession of new work that is both inviting and challenging. Featuring a new generation of makers, including winners of the BNG Award and the Jacques de Leeuw Prize, as well as winners and nominees of international film festivals.

Each programme introduces new elements. The palette and dynamics differ from night to night.

UNITED COWBOYS
United Cowboys is an Eindhoven-based live art collective that plays a leading role on international stages for dance and performance. Under the artistic direction of Pauline Roelants and Maarten van der Put, they create a multifaceted landscape in which dance, performance, music and visual art merge into raw, physical experiences. In doing so, united cowboys occupies a unique position within the Dutch performing arts field and is regarded as a global platform for artistic cross-pollination.

Over more than thirty years of activity, the collective has realised around fifty productions, ranging from intimate, personal works, primarily solos, to monumental productions for mid-sized and large venues. Between 2021 and 2024, they created the productions Reminition Swanlake and The Nutcracker on commission from Staatstheater Kassel in Germany, in collaboration with Tanz_Kassel.

These events are made possible by: Brabant C/ASML, the Province of North Brabant, the City of Eindhoven (SCE), and PLAN.
