Lorenz Hart was one of the most influential American songwriters of his time. Together with Richard Rodgers, he wrote 28 musicals (including A Connecticut Yankee and Babes in Arms) and more than 500 songs (such as Blue Moon and My Funny Valentine), which are imbued with timeless melodies and emotional depth. While Rodgers went on to form the most successful duo in American musical history with Hammerstein after Oklahoma!, Hart's life ended a few months later at the age of 48. In Blue Moon, Richard Linklater shows how the lives of some of America's greatest songwriters changed forever in one night, accompanied by iconic music.
Blue Moon is directed by Oscar-nominated director Richard Linklater (Boyhood), with an impressive cast including Ethan Hawke (Boyhood, The Before Trilogy), Margaret Qualley (The Substance, Once Upon a Time... In Hollywood), Andrew Scott (All of Us Strangers, Fleabag), and Bobby Cannavale (The Irishman). The film had its world premiere at the Berlin Film Festival.
