The Invite

Olivia Wilde
RELEASE Thu 9 Jul

Angela (Olivia Wilde) and Joe’s (Seth Rogen) marriage has been stuck in a rut for some time, defined by neurotic bickering. Their eccentric upstairs neighbours Hawk (Edward Norton) and Pina (Penélope Cruz) turn out to be particularly active at night, much to Joe’s annoyance. When Angela invites them over for dinner, Joe sees it as the perfect opportunity to confront them. What follows is an evening full of unexpected twists that none of them will soon forget…

Filmmaker and actress Olivia Wilde (Booksmart, Don’t Worry Darling) and screenwriters Will McCormack and Rashida Jones based this razor-sharp comedy on the Spanish film Sentimental, which has already been remade in several countries. The Invite is a hilarious and moving portrait of sex, relationships and marriage, constantly keeping the viewer on the wrong foot. The film was met with great enthusiasm at its world premiere at Sundance.
