Mouse
Without her best friend, she must not only learn to cope with her loss, but also find her way—on her own for the first time—toward adulthood and a future that could go in any direction. She seeks support from Callie’s mother, Helen (Oscar-nominated actress Sophie Okonedo), with whom she develops a complicated yet special bond. *Mouse* is the third feature film by Kelly O’Sullivan and Alex Thompson, following *Saint Frances* and Ghostlight. With humor, warmth, and an eye for what remains unspoken, they tell a subtle and emotional story about loss, friendship, and the search for identity and sexuality. O’Sullivan wrote the screenplay and set the story in North Little Rock, Arkansas, where she grew up. Mouse had its world premiere at the Berlin International Film Festival, where it was warmly received and nominated for the Teddy Award for Best Feature Film.
