Tijdens een tuinfeest op een warme middag kijkt Alice verbaasd op als de vriend van haar ouders, Lewis Carroll, verandert in een wit konijn. Als ze hem een konijnenhol in volgt, gebeuren er steeds vreemdere dingen. Op haar reis door Wonderland komt Alice talloze vreemde personages tegen. Ze is ondersteboven van de Hartenboer, die moet vluchten omdat hij de taartjes gestolen heeft. De ene gebeurtenis is nog verwarrendere dan de andere. Dan schiet Alice wakker. Was het maar een dagdroom.
