Michael is the cinematic portrait of the life and artistic legacy of one of the most influential artists the world has ever known.

The film tells the story of Michael Jackson’s life beyond the music, following his journey from the discovery of his extraordinary talent as the frontman of the Jackson Five to the visionary artist whose creative ambition drove him to become the greatest entertainer in the world.

It explores his life offstage as well as iconic performances from the early days of his solo career, placing the viewer right in the front row with Michael Jackson. His story begins here.

The lead roles in Michael are played by Jaafar Jackson, who makes his feature film debut, alongside Nia Long (Empire, The Best Man), Laura Harrier (BlacKkKlansman, Spider-Man: Homecoming) and Juliano Krue Valdi (The Loud House, Arco). The cast also includes Miles Teller (Top Gun: Maverick, Whiplash) and Colman Domingo, who has received two Academy Award nominations (Sing Sing, Rustin).

Michael is directed by Antoine Fuqua, known for films such as Training Day, Olympus Has Fallen and The Equalizer, and is based on a screenplay by three-time Academy Award nominee John Logan (Gladiator, The Aviator).

The producers are Academy Award winner Graham King (The Departed, Bohemian Rhapsody), John Branca (executive producer This Is It, Thriller 40) and John McClain (executive producer This Is It, Michael Jackson Live at Wembley July 16, 1988).
