When a group of cousins unexpectedly inherit an abandoned house in the countryside of Normandy, they uncover a remarkable shared family history. Back in 1895, their ancestor Adèle, a 21-year-old woman, set off for avant-garde Paris in search of her mother. At the time, the city was the beating heart of a new artistic era, with the rise of photography and the breakthrough of Impressionist painting. As her descendants follow in Adèle’s footsteps, they discover that her story is deeply intertwined with this vibrant art world—and even intersects with that of Claude Monet.
