Natlab is a vibrant place where culture and hospitality come together. With five cinemas, a multifunctional performance hall, exhibition spaces, and a café-restaurant, we offer a unique experience for both our guests and business visitors. Our location breathes history while offering modern comfort at the same time.
For our café-restaurant, we are looking for a driven, quality-oriented, and socially skilled Head Chef who, together with the kitchen team, will create a menu that aligns with our new hospitality concept. At Natlab, you will have the opportunity to actively contribute to the development of this concept, playing a key role in reimagining and delivering an unforgettable dining experience for our guests.
The New Hospitality Concept
At Natlab, we are introducing an innovative hospitality concept in which experience, quality, and sustainability take center stage.
- Local products: We work as much as possible with regional suppliers and choose seasonal ingredients.
- Surprising combinations: The menu features creative dishes that combine classic flavors with modern influences.
- Accessible atmosphere: We want everyone to feel welcome—from culture lovers to business guests—with a menu that offers something for everyone.
- Sustainability: We aim to minimize waste and make conscious choices in our kitchen and operations.
- As Head Chef, you will have the freedom to further shape this vision together with the team and develop your own signature style that fits Natlab.
Your Role as Head Chef
As Head Chef, you are the driving force behind Natlab’s new hospitality concept. You will:
- Develop, together with the kitchen team, a menu that surprises and inspires our guests.
- Select suppliers that align with our vision of local products, creative combinations, and an accessible atmosphere.
- Motivate, coach, and lead the kitchen team to a higher level.
- Ensure the team can serve at least 60 covers within one and a half hours during service.
- Monitor margins and maintain high hygiene standards.
Who Are You?
You are an inspiring leader who:
- Motivates others and brings out the best in the team.
- Has broad culinary knowledge and extensive experience, with a desire to keep developing further.
- Is strong in planning and organization.
- Has experience with Horeko (preferred).
What Do We Offer?
- A full-time position (36 hours per week, spread over four days).
- Salary according to the Dutch Performing Arts CAO, pay scale 7 (€3,336 to €4,682 gross per month, depending on experience).
- Travel allowance from 10 km and participation in the shared tips pool.
- Free access to all films and other Natlab programs.
