Wild Foxes

Valery Carnoy
RELEASE Thu 30 Jul

Young boxer Camille lives with other sporting talents in a prestigious boarding school in the middle of the woods. He is the greatest promise within a tight-knit group of boxers that also includes his childhood friend Matteo, but after a near-fatal accident something in him shuts down. His scar heals and he should be able to perform at his previous level again, but he cannot. The dynamics within the group begin to change, and with them his friendship with Matteo. In this performance-driven environment, there is little room for vulnerability.

Wild Foxes (La danse des renards) is the award-winning feature debut of Brussels-based director Valéry Carnoy, with lead actor Samuel Kircher widely praised for his performance. This powerful coming-of-age drama gains an additional layer through the allegory of wild foxes in the forests surrounding the boarding school and received critical acclaim at the Cannes Film Festival. The atmospheric, unconventional boxing film was awarded the Europa Cinemas Label and the SACD Coup de Coeur Award.
