Trieste, summer of 2007. The self-assured Swedish Fredrika has just moved to the Italian coastal city and finds herself at a technical high school in a class full of boys. She immediately becomes the center of attention, and not just because of her intelligence and knowledge. Gradually, she builds a friendship with an inseparable trio: the fascinating and modest Antero, the extroverted casanova Pasini, and the sweet and protective Mitis. Together, they explore the streets of Trieste, party, reflect on the future, share secrets, and discover new feelings. The final school year will mark them forever.
Un anno di scuola is the second film by director Laura Samani. After her debut film premiered at the Cannes Film Festival, she premiered this film in Venice, where it won the Best Actor award. Laura Samani is regarded as a director of the future of Italian cinema.
