Harry Lehman (John Turturro) is an old-school pickpocket in an era when his trade is slowly dying out. Yet he continues to steal, just to make ends meet and care for his seriously ill wife, Rosie. When a seemingly simple theft unexpectedly nets him something of great value, Harry becomes entangled in a dangerous web of criminals. What follows is a nerve-wracking race through the streets of New York, in which Harry must draw on his old-school craftsmanship, his network, and his instincts to get himself—and his loot—back.
