When Sherida suddenly realizes she has to give a presentation about the brain — one she is completely unprepared for — chaos erupts. As she tries to bring order to her thoughts and daily life, she is unwillingly pulled into her own mind. There, she relives moments from her childhood, her marriage marked by infidelity and violence, and the pain she tried for years to suppress.
Uma (H)Ati (loosely translated: woman and heart) brings raw themes such as intimate partner violence, suicidal thoughts, PTSD, and infidelity to the stage with honesty and humanity. At the same time, the performance reveals how trauma affects the brain — and what resilience and recovery can look like.
Accompanying herself live on the piano, Sherida alternates heavy, emotional scenes with moments of humor and hope. Uma (H)Ati is not just a performance, but a call for awareness, compassion, and breaking taboos. It is a tribute to all women who, despite pain, learn to rise again — with an open heart.
