Hanging out with friends, partying and pushing boundaries… That is how most teenagers spend the summer before turning eighteen. But not Ivy.

Her loving but overprotective parents have other plans: four weeks at Children Run Free Camp, a summer camp for young people living with the effects of cancer.

After one look at the terrible promotional video, packed with sunsets and cheap crossfades, Ivy has had enough. As if cancer were not bad enough, now she has to go to summer camp too.

But “chemo camp” turns out to be much more fun than expected. She meets a group of young people who, just like her, want to get everything they can out of life: snorting prescription pills, drinking vodka, skinny-dipping… and perhaps even falling in love.
