A cheerful film about two young women who switch lives so they can follow their own paths and enjoy everything the jazz age has to offer.

Two friends from Berlin set off by boat to London, determined to follow the path their parents have mapped out for them. Along the way, they switch places to pursue their own dreams. Susi (Mary Parker) swaps life on the stage for serious study, while the aristocratic Anni (a radiant Anny Ondra) wants to be in the spotlight and seizes her chance at the Tiller Girls dance school. A sparkling story full of humor, music, dance, and romance, set in the jazz age of London and Berlin.

Saxophon-Susi is a wonderful example of Weimar comedy, with an international team full of top Czech talent, including director Karel Lamač (who later fled from the Nazis to the Netherlands, where he made The Ghost Train) and cameraman Otto Heller. Anny Ondra's comic talent bursts from the screen in this joyful film that is bursting with fun and energy.
