NSFF | Neverending Stories

Film scholars Anke Brouwers and Kate Saccone dive into the remaining fragments of films that were considered lost and show us the beauty, surprises and endless potential that these rarely shown images can offer.

While we can still enjoy many silent film classics in their full glorious splendour, it is well-known that only a small number of films that were produced during the period survive today and many exist only in fragmented form: incomplete, re-edited, unidentified, missing grand opening scenes, key plot points, or gratifying final shots. The narratives of these films are now suspended in our imagination, likely never to be seen in complete form again.

With 'Neverending Stories' film scholars Kate Saccone and Anke Brouwers look at these often invisible - because not easily 'programmable' - yet beautiful, funny, charming and engaging bits and pieces of film that, despite their truncated form, brim with promise and potential.
