Los tigres

Alberto Rodríguez
RELEASE Thu 13 Aug

Brother and sister Antonio and Estrella work as industrial divers off the rugged coast near the Spanish port city of Huelva. Antonio, better known as the Tiger, is fearless and unrivalled underwater, but a mess on dry land. While Estrella sacrifices her own dreams to keep her brother afloat, Antonio’s financial troubles and declining health push them further into a corner. Then they discover a shipment of cocaine hidden inside the hull of a ship. What initially seems like an unexpected lifeline soon turns into a dangerous game that tests their loyalty and family bond to the limit.

Los Tigres is a gripping Spanish thriller about family ties, loyalty and sacrifice. Director Alberto Rodríguez, known for the acclaimed film La Isla Mínima, plunges into the dangerous world of industrial diving, combining raw realism with a compelling crime story and an intimate family drama. Its powerful performances and spectacular underwater cinematography earned Los Tigres several awards, including the Best Cinematography prize at the San Sebastián International Film Festival.
