A shepherd stands alone against property developers who want to build a luxury resort near his idyllic Sardinian village. Based on true events.

A Milanese businessman with a vast real estate empire has set his sights on building a luxury resort on the beach near a sleepy Sardinian village. The unemployed locals are overjoyed, but there is one holdout: Efisio, an elderly shepherd whose family has grazed their cattle on the idyllic beaches for generations. Efisio refuses to sell his home and land.

Negotiations prove difficult, and Efisio stands firm despite angry pleas from the villagers and enormous sums of money offered to him year after year. The shepherd and his daughter, Francesca, come under increasing pressure, while the developers resort to underhanded tactics to force the sale. Efisio remains stubbornly defiant, and Francesca gradually begins to understand the reasons behind his resistance.
