Through dynamic (hip-hop) dance, monologues, and intimate conversations, a container retriever, a parent, a customs officer, and a user tell the honest story of the role drugs play in their world. For some, it’s a party; for others, it is literally the container itself.
You are gradually confronted with the consequences of dreaming of quick money, the temptations of social media, failing poverty policies, and the feeling among many young people that they do not matter.
The compelling theater and dance performance *DOPE* reveals how drugs run like an invisible thread through our society. Through (hip-hop) dance, monologues, and intimate conversations, a container retriever, a parent, a customs officer, and a user share their stories. Researchers from FORT-PORT—including those from Erasmus University Rotterdam—inform the creative process and present their own "container stories" regarding the fight against drug and human trafficking.
