Within the measured habitat of their new abode, they are completely dependent on each other in space. Personal freedom gives way to forced togetherness and individuality gives way to the importance of the collective. What begins as a communal task slowly turns into a psychological ordeal. The relationships between them shift: love becomes envy, security turns to irritation. When their probe collides with flying space debris, chaos breaks out.
Biotopia is a dynamic dance performance in which five dancers, amidst a futuristic set, endure all the physical aspects of being forced together. From gentle and poetic interaction to explosive partner work.

ABOUT SHIFFT
SHIFFT is the dance company of choreographer Jasper van Luijk, founded in 2016. Together with dramaturg Isabel Meloen, he searches for burning, topical themes. The work is created in a rich artistic exchange with dancers and artists from various disciplines. SHIFFT meets its audience both in the theater and at special locations. With our performances, we aim to transform major social themes into physical movement so that each individual can relate to them. With our language, dance we bring people out of their heads and let them land in their bodies through their senses.
