About Natlab

Natlab is a vibrant cultural venue at Strijp-S in Eindhoven. We are a film and theater house with a wide-ranging program of cinema, performing arts, debate, and education. Natlab is also a meeting place with lively catering facilities, where visitors come together for coffee, dinner, or drinks. We believe in the power of imagination and wonder, and in the value of meeting people. Our mission: to be a place where culture and society inspire each other.

The Supervisory Board

The Supervisory Board (RvT) monitors the continuity, quality, and social relevance of Natlab. The RvT oversees the policy and strategy of the managing director, acts as a sounding board and sparring partner, and contributes knowledge, experience, and network. The members of the SB are visibly involved in the organization and feel connected to our cultural and social role in the city and the region.

The SB currently consists of five members with different backgrounds and expertise. An audit committee is active within the SB. We work in accordance with the Governance Code for Culture.

The current members of our Supervisory Board:

• Have an affinity with film, theater, debate, education, and hospitality as part of the cultural offering.
• Have broad social interests and a strong network in culture, education, business, and/or government.
• Are independent, critical, but also connective and collegial.
• Have experience with administrative issues in profit or non-profit sectors (social or cultural) and a sense of governance in the cultural sector.
• Bring specific expertise, for example in the areas of:
  • Artistic and content expertise
  • Finance, business operations, and risk management
  • Marketing, communication, and audience reach
  • Organizational and personnel policy
  • Cultural innovation, entrepreneurship, and revenue models
  • Municipal or regional cultural policy
• Preferably have ties to Eindhoven and the surrounding area.

Specific for the chair

For the role of chair, we are looking for a candidate who:

• Has supervisory experience and a proven ability to lead a Supervisory Board.
• Ensures the quality of supervision and encourages cooperation and reflection within the Supervisory Board.
• Acts as a sparring partner for the managing director and contributes to strategic decision-making.
• Is authoritative, connective, and communicative.
