MOVIES THAT MATTER
Films that move you. Stories that start a conversation.
Movies that Matter On Tour brings films and documentaries about human rights, freedom and justice to Natlab. Personal stories from around the world bring major social issues close to home, challenging assumptions and offering fresh perspectives.
From October to May, we spotlight a different film each month. Together we explore its themes through an introduction or post-screening discussion with guest speakers. It’s an opportunity to ask questions, share experiences and keep the conversation going beyond the closing credits.
movies that matter
Movies that Matter believes in the power of film to change how we see the world. The organisation draws attention to human rights and social justice through stories that might otherwise go unseen, using cinema as a starting point for connection, conversation and change.
Alongside its annual Movies that Matter Festival, the organisation runs screenings and educational programmes for school pupils and students. It also supports film festivals and human rights screenings abroad. Through these activities, Movies that Matter brings filmmakers, people whose stories are told and audiences together, in the Netherlands and beyond.
