'A truthful, meticulous, and even sensorial drama.' (El Mundo)
Ángela (Miriam Garlo) and Hector (Alvaro Cervantes) are a happy couple, despite their differences. She is deaf, he is hearing. Together they have built a beautiful life and are looking forward to the arrival of their first child. But when the baby is born, the balance in their family is disrupted. After all, they both experience parenthood and upbringing very differently. Ángela struggles to find her place in a ‘hearing’ world that is not designed for her.
Sorda won the Panorama Audience Award at the Berlin Film Festival. The film was written and directed by Eva Libertad, who cast her sister, the deaf actress Miriam Garlo, in the lead role.
