Mulan is just that girl! When the army calls for your aging father, there's only one logical thing you can do. Steal his armor, pretend to be a man, outperform every guy in training, and save China. Obviously. 

It's iconic because of it's legendary bootcamp montage, the absolute banger that is I’ll Make a Man Out of You, and Mushu running around being a menace. But it’s also quietly ahead of its time: a woman rewriting the rules, Chinese folklore at the heart of the story, and the queer subtext in her relationship with Li Shang (my bisexual king). 

Come for the nostalgic chaos, stay for the hot takes! And maybe we can give each other make-overs by cutting our hair with swords. You know, just girly things!

Wanna watch a (hidden) classic with like-minded people who like to talk all things film?  POP CORNER is our monthly film community for movie lovers in their twenties and thirties. Every last Wednesday of the month, join us while we watch a film that you help us choose. Afterwards, we'll have drinks! No fuss, just your favorite cocktail at the table while you share your hot takes or judge someone else's. You'll go home feeling refreshed, and hopefully with a bunch of new Letterboxd followers.
