Marty Mauser (Timothée Chalamet) is a smart but stubborn boy with a dream that no one believes in. In his quest for success, he goes to extremes and ends up in a world full of temptation, risks, and challenges. As he does everything he can to make his dream come true, he discovers how high the price of success really is.

Marty Supreme is an American sports drama from 2025, directed by Josh Safdie. Set in 1950s New York, the film follows Marty Mauser, played by Timothée Chalamet, in a performance that earned international acclaim, including a Golden Globe and a Critics Choice Award for Best Actor.

Marty is smart, stubborn, and driven by a dream almost no one believes in. He wants to reach the absolute top of the world of table tennis. What begins as raw ambition turns into a confrontational struggle with expectations, temptation, and personal limits. As Marty pushes himself further to win, his relationships and health begin to suffer, forcing him to confront what success truly means.

Marty Supreme is more than a sports film. It is a raw portrait of ambition, self-sacrifice, and the cost of recognition. Chalamet’s intense and layered performance anchors the film and reinforces Safdie’s nervous, high-energy style.

Loosely inspired by the life of table tennis legend Marty Reisman and told with considerable artistic freedom, Marty Supreme is a film about believing in yourself, even when that belief comes at a high price.
