Game Changers | One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest

Mon 17 Nov 20:00

One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest shows how one man’s struggle against a ruthless system can grow into a poignant indictment of authority and conformity. Based on Ken Kesey's influential novel, the film follows the rebellious R.P. McMurphy (Jack Nicholson), who pretends to be insane to escape forced labor, but within the walls of a psychiatric institution enters into a new, much more fundamental confrontation.

There, his indomitable zest for life clashes with the cold, oppressive regime of Nurse Ratched, chillingly portrayed by Louise Fletcher. What begins as provocation grows into a collective cry for dignity, freedom, and humanity, a silent revolt within a closed system.

The film became a cornerstone of 1970s American cinema and won the five major Oscars: Best Picture, Director, Actor, Actress, and Screenplay. Twan Arts demonstrates why this Dutch film is a Game Changer.
