Eindhoven celebrates 40 years of Heritage Open Days.

In 2026, Heritage Open Days will celebrate its 40th anniversary. What began in 1987 as a modest nationwide initiative has grown into one of the largest cultural events in the Netherlands.

Eindhoven will also mark this milestone with a special gathering at Natlab on Friday 11 September. Peter Thoben, Lilian Calame and René Erven will discuss almost four decades of Heritage Open Days in Eindhoven. They will reflect on the event’s development, the role of heritage in the city and its significance for the future.

The evening will conclude with Eindhoven’s first history pub quiz, with fun prizes to be won.
