Eat More Trees

Arne Focketyn
RELEASE Thu 2 Jul

Every year, we lose 24 billion tons of fertile soil worldwide. That's the equivalent of thirty football fields every minute. If we continue farming the way we do today, we are quite literally removing the ground beneath our food system.

Eat More Trees, narrated by actress Hanna Verboom, shows how things can be done differently. We follow Dutch farmer Yanniek Schoonhoven, who, together with her husband, is transforming 1,100 hectares of degraded land in Murcia, southern Spain, into a thriving example of regenerative agriculture. Alongside food forest expert and regenerative pioneer Louis De Jaeger, we travel from the Amazon rainforest to European farmlands. We discover how trees and perennial crops can make agriculture more resilient to drought and heat, while restoring soils, strengthening ecosystems, and producing healthier, more nutritious food.
