Meursault, an unremarkable man, reacts insensitively to his mother's death. When he becomes entangled in his neighbor's shady dealings, a fateful event unfolds. In court, he is condemned not for what he did, but for who he appears to be.

L'ETRANGER

Algiers, 1938. Meursault, a quiet and unassuming man in his early thirties, attends his mother's funeral without shedding a tear. The next day, he begins an affair with his colleague, Marie, and quickly falls back into his daily routine. But his everyday life is disrupted by his neighbor, Raymond Sintès, who draws Meursault into his shady dealings. Until, on a scorching day, a fateful event takes place on the beach… When Meursault appears in court, he seems to be judged not so much for his actions, but for his emotionless appearance. Can a man be sentenced to death for not crying at his mother's funeral? L'Étranger is based on the world-famous 1942 novel by Albert Camus, one of the best-selling French novels of all time.
