The Style of film

Discover the style of film with Kevin Toma

Films tell stories, create worlds and draw you into the reality of their characters. How they do this is a matter of style. But how does a film's style take shape? In this lively new course, film journalist Kevin Toma (de Volkskrant) unravels the many facets of film style through surprising clips from classic and contemporary cinema. Both playful and in-depth, this journey of discovery teaches you to appreciate film style with pleasure, attention and an open mind – from precise directorial choices to the little imperfections and beautiful coincidences that give a film its personality.
