Between 2022 and 2040, Eindhoven will add 40,000 homes and 36,000 jobs. The city is growing not only in the city center, but also in the district centers and along the High-Quality Public Transport axes. Housing and other functions are being added throughout Eindhoven, and that certainly doesn't mean just residential towers!

On Monday, October 27th, together with the municipality, we will reflect on the impact of this growth on the changing appearance of the city and the social cohesion of neighborhoods and districts. How do we shape densification in a way that also preserves Eindhoven's recognizable character? How do we maintain connection in a growing city? And what does densification mean for a city where more and more people are living in ever-closer proximity? Space is limited, requiring clear-cut choices, smart use of space, and sound urban organization.

During a special, free meeting at Natlab, we will explore this complex densification puzzle. The afternoon will be introduced by Mieke Verhees (Alderman for Housing, Neighborhoods, Spatial Planning and Services) and moderated by Mieke Fiers (social designer, partner at Morgenmakers). We will conduct a discussion based on challenging statements with Eindhoven residents, colleagues, interest groups, and the business community. The goal is to fuel the discussion about healthy densification in Eindhoven, with a focus on the municipality's Densification Program.
