Sergio, a driven teacher, faces a big challenge in Matamoros, Mexico: the school with the lowest test scores in the country with kids from difficult home situations and even gangs in the area. He decides to change tactics and uses 'radical' methods to inspire his students.

Teacher Sergio Correa (Eugenio Derbez) arrives in good spirits at his new school in Matamoros, Mexico, near the Texas border. The inspired teacher soon discovers that the school has few resources - the computers were stolen four years ago and never replaced - and even less enthusiasm to teach the students: the region is infested by gangs, the children often come from difficult home situations and achieve the lowest test scores in the country. Sergio decides to completely change course and uses 'radical' methods to inspire his students in order to offer them a better future.
