A French biopic about the extraordinary life of national folkhero Henri Grouès, also known as Abbé Pierre and founder of the Emmaus movement.

The priest, a national folkhero in France, fully dedicated his life to fighting poverty and homelessness. Henri Grouès was born into a rich family, but when he turned 18, he decided to share his inheritance with the poor. After spending years in a monastery and as a resistance fighter in the second world war, he becomes an elected parliamentarian in Paris. During this time Abbé Pierre used his income to offer the weakest in society a future and a home. His anger about injustice makes him rebellious, but also vulnerable and inspiring.
