Ama Gloria is a moving coming of age film about Cléo and her nanny Gloria, with a particularly strong acting performance of the young Louise Mauroy-Panzani.

The six-year-old Cléo (Louise Mauroy-Panzani) grows up in Paris. She is being raised by the Cape Verdean Gloria since she was born, while her single father is rarely at home. Cléo and Gloria are inseperable. Until Gloria receives a phone call from her family and has to come back home as soon as possible to take care of her own children. When Cléo gets to spend the summer at Gloria in Cape Verde, these few months form their last memories together.

Ama Gloria is the impressive solo directional debut of Marie Amachoukeli, who won the Camera d'Or for Party Girl with co-directors Claire Burger and Samuel Theis. The film premiered on Cannes Filmfestival as openingfilm of the section La Semaine de la Critique.
