An encounter with the female sperm whale Dolores turns Patrick's life fully upside down. Dolores turns out to be extraordinarily social and curious. She scans Patrick with her sonar and even copies his movements. In the award-winning Patrick and the Whale, Patrick travels to Dominica to find Dolores again. He is convinced that she is the sperm whale that can give us more insights about the secrets of her world.
With astonishing underwater footage, Patrick researches the fascinating nature of the sperm whale and he tries to get to know more about her intelligence and complexity. Over time he learns more about Doleres' kind, but maybe even more about himself. Patrick and the Whale follows Patrick's journey and dives into the psychology of a man that sacrificed everything to understand something about the largest oceandwellers of our planet.
None other than Academy Award winner James Reed (My Octopus Teacher) and Acadamy Award nominee Alexander Nanau (Collective) have bound themselves to the film as executive producers.
