After 18 years, Koffi returns to his motherland Congo to introduce his pregnant wife to his family and to pay the traditional dowry. The reunion does not go as expected: although Koffi tries to restore the ties with might and main, he is and will be a 'sign of the devil' to the community. Koffi seems to struggle with seperating himself from the deeprooted beliefs of his family. Together with the other 'devil's children' he decides to throw himself into a fiery fight to cast off this hellish label.
