The third chapter of Wagner’s Ring cycle is filled with brilliant moments of transcendent beauty and heroic triumphs, and Barrie Kosky knows how to bring it superbly to life following his spectacular Das Rheingold (2023) and Die Walküre(2025). Andreas Schager makes his long-awaited debut at The Royal Opera, singing the title role of Siegfried. Christopher Maltman is the mighty Wanderer, Peter Hoare the treacherous Mime, and Elisabet Strid a radiant Brünnhilde. Antonio Pappano conducts, giving shape to the unspoken tensions and ethereal mysticism of Wagner’s dynamic score.
