Alex (Pio Marmaï) is a young, single father grappling with deep grief after the loss of his wife. His six-year-old son, Elliot, is learning to adjust to their new reality at home. Their older neighbor Sandra (Valeria Bruni Tedeschi) runs a feminist bookstore and keeps mostly to herself. Against all expectations, a bond begins to form between them. But who is she to them? And who are they to her?

Director Carine Tardieu (Ôtez-moi d’un doute) once again explores how relationships and family can take shape in unexpected ways. L’Attachement had its world premiere at the Venice Film Festival (Orizzonti).
