De Acht met live filmmuziek

Frank van Osch en Statums Muziekkorps St. Cecilia
Sat 1 Nov and Sun 2 Nov

On Saturday, November 1 and Sunday, November 2, 2025, something special will happen at Natlab in Eindhoven! The musicians of Statums Muziekkorps St. Cecilia will play the live music for the much-praised documentary De Acht.

De Acht puts the spotlight on the dedicated volunteers of the Chaam cycling race, who shine on the big screen. The documentary attracted thousands of visitors to cinemas and community centers. Now the film returns with a specially composed live score by Jan Bosveld. Statums Muziekkorps St. Cecilia from Eindhoven will bring the film to life with their live music performance!

It marks the Eindhoven premiere of a unique project: Docs in Concert. In this concept, documentaries are paired with wind orchestras and composers, blending the magic of live music with the power of documentary storytelling. These two worlds together become much more than the sum of their parts.

Initiator Frank van Osch explains: “When my documentary Het verdriet van carnaval premiered with live music performed by a wind orchestra, it was an overwhelming experience. Now we’re doing this with many more films, more composers, and numerous orchestras from Brabant.”

Before the intermission, St. Cecilia will perform a selection of musical pieces and accompany Frank van Osch. He is not only one of the creators of the film and the driving force behind Docs in Concert, but also a singer-songwriter. For this special occasion, his most beautiful cycling songs have been arranged specifically for wind orchestra.
