Greed, one of the nine major sins, along with pride, lust, anger, envy, laziness, wastefulness, betrayal, and violence, is judged under the Law of Oblivion. Those who commit any of these sins are subject to this law; upon their deaths, all of their belongings are collected and everything they owned is seized. The personal belongings and corpses of the guilty are ground up in a processing facility, erasing every trace of them from life completely. 

Young lawyer Alper learns at work that his mother Andaç has suddenly died as a result of an ironically ironic traffic accident. When Alper and his father return home, they witness officials enforcing the Law of Oblivion gathering his mother's possessions, leaving them both deeply shocked.
