Maria is almost 19 and lives with her boyfriend Johannes at his parents' farm. In order not to worry about her future, she loses herself in reading books. After the fall of the wall, the atmosphere of a new era is in the air but she can't handle it. The same goes for her neighbor. Based on the book by Daniela Krien, Atef co-wrote the screenplay with Krien for this intense and daring story about an impossible love. An immersive film experience with an ensemble of talented actors and leading roles for Marlene Burow and Felix Kramer. The film was nominated for the Golden Bear at the Berlin Film Festival.
