Haar in de Wind

Wilfried de Jong and Caro Derkx love cycling. Cycling is sport, toil and perseverance, but it also provides food for thought. Wilfried once put Caro on a racing bike, she never stopped pedaling from then on.

On Fiets! an old steel Pegoretti and a carbon Trek face each other. Caro and Wilfried are sentenced to each other for an hour and a half. In joy and sorrow. A theatrical journey full of friendship, struggle and strange ideas. Special: in film images we see how Caro climbs an Alpine giant for the first time in the footsteps of Wilfried.

CARO DERKX
Caro Derkx graduated from the Maastricht Theater Academy in 2019 with the solo performance Me, Myself and Sir Roger Scruton. The performance won both the Henriëtte Hustinx Prize 2019 and 'Het Debuut 2019'. From the 2020-2021 season, Caro Derkx will develop her work at Frascati Productions. Her performance Emma Watson - The Play with Nora el Koussour premiered in February 2022. Caro Derkx is praised by the press for her accurate style and challenging theatre, her striking productions testify to an outspoken and highly developed artistry.
When asked what she wants to be when she grows up, Caro said in an interview: 'Wilfried de Jong'.

WILFRIED DE JONG
Theater and television producer and writer, old hand. Theaters turned upside down with Waardenberg & de Jong, recently with lengthy series in the Luxor in Rotterdam. In the theater he also recently made performances with Wim Opbrouck (Toneelgoep Maastricht), and personal solo performances (with music by Ocobar) that tingle with pleasure, because they come when they come and nothing is obligatory (at Bunker Theaterzaken).

Caro Derkx and Wilfried de Jong previously played together at Toneelgroep Maastricht, in the production King Lear (2016), and have been cycling together regularly ever since
