Sustaining a relationship for over twenty years is something only romantic superheroes can do, according to director Paolo Genovese. And that's what Marco and Anna are.

Anna is an impulsive cartoonist and Marco a physics professor who believes that there is an explanation for everything. In their relationship, tenderness and fights, lies and affection and secrets and deceit alternate. Changing groups of friends, whimsical personalities and conflicting desires to (not) have children threaten to disrupt their true love, but despite everything, these two superheroes manage to stick together.
