Moulin Rouge!'s and The Great Gatsby's director brings you a new colourful, stunning biopic, that was received with a standing ovation of no less than 12 minutes at the Cannes Film Festival.

"A sweaty, seductive American fairytale with Elvis' manager (Tom Hanks) as the evil stepmother, while the King is the princess locked in his tower in Las Vegas." - **** The Independent

What do we want to see in biopics? A soul stripped of its performance, a cold and real portrait of someone's personality behind the shiny shows? Or a representation of one's message, ideals and values? Baz Luhrmann chose to skip all those approaches and instead delivers something far more compelling: a striking American fairytale that was shot like Elvis performs, sweay and kinetic.

In this cinematic drama we get to know Elvis Presley through the eyes of his mysterious manager, colonel Tom Parker. They worked together for over 20 years and had a complicated relationship and complex dynamic going on. We watch Elvis from his breakthrough, growing into an unprecedented superstar, in the context of a culturally changing America slowly loosing its innocence.
