Anne has a bright future ahead of her. But her dream of finishing her studies shatters when she unexpectedly gets pregnant. As her final exams approach, Anne decides to take matters into her own hands. All with the risk of ending up in jail.

The French society of 1963 is one that disapproves of the desires of women and sex in general. When Anne, a young woman who hopes to free herself from her social background by studying, unexpectedly gets pregnant she decides to have an abortion. This is easier said than done because abortion is not legal at all. Time is ticking, her exams are just around the corner and her baby bump is growing fast.
