"I am a bastard, a half blood, I belong to the mongrel class op people. My X chromosomes find their origin in the clay soil of the Flamish Kempen area, my Y chromosomes in the loose Atlas sands." Rashif El Kaoui is talking here. Together with Ahmet Polat, he reconstructs the route that his father followed from Maroc to Belgium, to eventually die in southern France. A return to a father he actually barely knew. Ahmet believes that travelling would be a good thing to do for Rashif, to get a better understanding of the blood running through his veins. Their trip becomes a ritual, an attempt to find a place for themselves in a world in 'bastards' are not naturally wanted or accepted.

Ahmet is a world famous and former Dutch national photographer and also works as documentary maker. Rashif is writer, actor and the man with the most wonderful voice of Flanders. Together they bring you a live road movie in which slam poetry, film, prose and storytelling alternate and intertwine.
