A seemingly perfect family: good jobs, a pretty house and expecting their first child. But behind the appearances, a tragedy happens as the young mother-to-be develops a dangerous eating disorder.

Hunter seems to be having a wonderful life with her husband Ritchie. He just became manager of a succesful family company when they discover they're expecting. But as the pregnancy throws Hunter off balance, she starts developing an eating disorder: Pica, which means the constant craving to eat things that are not supposed to be eaten. When this eating disorder starts threatening her pregnancy and life of her unborn child, her in-laws try everything to safeguard the continuation of the family line. But doesn't Hunter's strange and uncontrollable obsession hide a problem that is way bigger?

SWALLOW is the impressive debut of director Carlo Mirabella-Davis that premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival, where the talented Haley Bennett (playing Hunter) took the award for Best Actress.
