Madeleine and Nina are retired, neighbours, and have been secret lovers for decades. No one knows about their relationship and the world that goes hidden behind their front doors in the shared hallway. But then, that shared hallway is closed and they can't reach each other anymore.

Madeleine is known as a caring mother and grandma. Nina seems to be an independent and liberal-minded woman. The latter wants nothing but live her life with her beloved, out in the open, but Madeleine doesn't dare to tell her children about her secret love life. But what will they do when they cannot get together in secret anymore?
