A centuries old oral tradition from Curaçao is now brought to the silver screen! Eleven year old Kenza grows up with her rational father and spiritual, more traditional grandpa. Getting to know their sometimes conflicting perspectives, she is challenged to develop her own.

Kenza lives with her father Ouira and grandfather Weljo on a junkyard in the interior of Curaçao. The two man are each others' opposites: Ouira is a firm and rational police officer, while Weljo identifies with the original inhabitants and spirituality of the island. While the relationship between the two becomes increasingly hostile, the opinionated Kenza searches for her own way of giving meaning to and understanding life.

Director Eché Janga based this film on the local slave saga of Band'abou Curaçao and passes down an oral tradition that stretches back centuries by bringing the story to the silver screen.
