In 1970, the just founded Women's Liberation Movement decides to disrupt the live broadcast of the Miss World contest in London. This comedy nicely conveys how they were at one and the same time deadly serious and Pythonically silly.

History student Sally Alexander and the active and enthusiast Jo Robinson are front women of the Women's Liberation Movement in England. They consider the Miss World contest to be a public humiliation of women, objectifying them and in many ways reminiscent of a cattle market. The protest they organize during the live broadcast was of great importance to the fight for gender equality and was a cornerstone for amongst others the #metoo movement.
